FAQ
Frequently asked questions about the Jupiter bot
Deprecated: This FAQ is for the Jupiter bot. Consider switching to the Onchain Bot.
What does the bot do?
The bot performs atomic arbitrage between decentralized exchanges on Solana. It buys a token on one DEX where it's cheaper and sells it on another where it's more expensive — all within a single atomic transaction.
How profitable is it?
Arbitrage is a low risk, low margin strategy. Typical daily profits range from 0.1 SOL to a few SOL per day, depending on:
- Market volatility
- Token selection
- Configuration and strategy
- RPC quality
- Competition
Some users have captured significantly larger arbs (50+ SOL) during high-volatility events, but this is not typical.
How does it work?
The bot periodically quotes all combinations of:
- Trade sizes (e.g., 0.1, 0.5, 1.0, 5.0 SOL)
- Intermediary mints (tokens to trade through)
When a quote shows a profitable route, the bot submits the transaction via Jito or spam.
Why is the Onchain Bot better?
The Onchain Bot has several advantages:
- Lower hardware requirements — No need for 32GB RAM
- No Jupiter dependency — Doesn't require running a local Jupiter instance
- More DEX support — 14+ native DEX integrations
- Onchain calculation — No stale quote issues
- Active development — Receives regular updates and new features
